temperature |
Definition: The speed at which the atoms in an object is moving. |
|
Many people get the definition of this word wrong. They say that temperature is how hot or cold something is. Temperature is actually the speed of the atoms in an object. If the atoms in an object are moving fast, they have more kinetic energy. This also means that the faster they move, the more heat they create and the slower they move, it gets colder.
