wiki Word: Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) |
Definition: a rocket filled with solid fuel to provide extra launching power for the shuttle.
A Solid Rocket Booster (SRB) is a fuel tank connected to the shuttle that provides it extra launching power. Without this, the shuttle would probably not beable to leave the Earth's atmosphere. And if it was lucky enough to do that, then it would not go very far at all. Once out of fuel, the SRB is ejected into the ocean. Then the shuttle's other fuel sorce takes over. |

| SRB's are how the shuttles get out of the Earth's atmosphere. Without them, we would never be able to enter outer space. We also wouldn't have any Mars rovers. No one would ever have set foot on the moon. Alot of the things that we've sucessfully completed were done with the help of SRB's! Think about it. That's pretty amazing isn't it? |
