wiki Word: Pumice |
| PRONOUNCIATION KEY: Pum-is |
Definition: a rock made from lava with many holes that make it very lightweight.
When lava hardens it has bubbles of gas which make holes in the rock. Later, air goes into the holes which makes the rock very light and is one of the reasons it floats. Pumice is usually light in color ranging from grey to white. It is also the only stone that is able to float.
