wiki Word: Proton |
Definition: A positively charged subatomic particle found in the Nucleus of an Atom |
|
Protons give the positive charge in the nucleus of any atom. The reason is because protons and neutrons are all that make up the nucleus. Neutrons have a neutral chage and protons have a positive charge thus giving the nucleus a positive charge. Each elements atomic number depends on how many PROTONS and electrons it has.

A proton is in every element which is why it is critical for us as students to know wht it is, how it works, and what it does. We also need to know all the parts in an atom and protons are a major part of the nucleus in an atom.
