Definition: A neutrally charged atomic particle in the nucleus of an atom.

 

A neutron is used in determining the isotope of them element. Also, neutrons are the largest of the atomic particles so they play a large part in the atomic mass of the atom. Unlike other atomic particles, neutrons are not a factor in what elemement the atom is.

 

 

 

 

 

 We are studdying the nuetron because it plays a main role in determining the isotope of the element. Without nuetrons all atoms of the same element would be the same weight everytime. This applys in real life because it affects the mass and weight of all objects.
