Definition: a projected type of propulsion for vehicles in outer space using the sun's ions

Include any facts, details, examples, questions, etc. that might help students understand this vocab word. Ion propulsion is a new way to propel the spacecraft forward. The problem with ion propulsion is that the gas xenon used for on propusion is extremely expensive. The gas is electricly charged to a speed of 30 km/second. It is then shot out the back of the rocket propeling it forward.
