wiki Word: Distant /Invisible forces |
Definition: A distant force is any force (push, pull, or lift on an object) that doesn't require contact. |
|
The three main invisible forces are gravity, magnetism, and static electricity.
Gravity is the force of attraction between all masses in the universe.
Magnetism is the attraction for iron; associated with electric currents as well as magnets.
Static electricity is an electrical charge that builds up due to friction between two dissimilar materials. |
|
This term applied to our class labs in many ways. Gravity was demonstrated in almost all of our labs! In our air rocket car labs the air rockets were pulled back to the ground because of gravity. In our air rocket cars the cars stayed on the ground because of gravity. Static electricity was not directly envolved in any of our labs, but in our air rocket car lab we used baloons. Some groups discovered that baloons and your hair can have alot of static electricity!!
Magnetism has not really been used in any of our labs.
