wiki Word:coronal loop |
Definition: A loop structure near the Sun's surface. Magnetic field lines emerging from the photosphere and returning to it in a region of opposite magnetic polarity organize the hot (one million degree Kelvin) plasma of the corona into these loop structures. Loops are hotter than the sun's surface. |

Coronal loops are high speed currents of plasma ejected from the Sun's surface and enjected between the magnetic structures and fields in the corona. The loops are jets of hot plasma flowing along in the openings between the strong coronal magnetic fields. The plasma current that forms a coronal loop is probably caused by uneven heating at the bases of the loop, with plasma speeding from the hotter end to the cooler end. The bases of a coronal loop are separated by many thousands of km.
Coronal loops are much hotter than the sun. We do not know what causes a coronal loop yet.
coronal loop: corn loop; for a science project I had to make a pretend coronal loop out of a corn loop./ corn: coronal/ core : coronal

Ø We have found away to use corn as a fuel and someday I hope we can harvest coronal loops for fuel in the future

we are studying the coronal loop because it is a part a space and a part of the sun, and the sun gives us life. Knowing about the coronal loop can and will help us in the real world because the more we know the more people will think we are intellegent. If people think you are very intellegent there is a higher chance that they will want to hire you for a job because if they know you are that smart and dedicated to things they know they can have a good trustworthy worker. It is also important to konw everything about coronal loops because their might be away to havest its energy in the future which from fuel prices could be a good thing.( even though it would take many light years to get to the sun and new tecnology would have to be created.) |
