Definition: A Cinder Cone volcanoe is a steep conical formation over a vent that is created from lava fragments called cinder.

Cinder Cone volcanoes are the most common type of all volcanoes. They are not famouse for their eruptions because they usualy don't cause any death although, every time a Cinder Cone Volcanoe erupts, its mass increases. These volcanoes are usually found in groups and are usually formed on sheild volcanoes, and strato volcanoes. Cinder Cones rarely exeed a height of 250 meters high and a width of 500 meters.

This term applys to our class because we have been studying the volcanoes on Mars such as olympus Mons. Also, we have been talking about sheild volcanoes and we learned how Cinder Cones form in them. In addition, we have been stedying and mapping lava flows and have done observation projects on lava flow.
