wiki Word: BOILING POINT

Definition: The point at which a liquid boils.

 Even though it stole the name of a popular show by MTV, it's pretty cool. Or hot, Depending on the natuaral phase of the matter you wish to boil. If you try to boil oxygen, (naturally a gas) then you have to cool it down to a liquid first. But, if you're trying to boil water, then you just heat it to 100 degrees Celcius. Here is the equaton for boiling point:

T_B = Bigg(frac{,R,[,ln(P_0)-ln(101.325),]}{Delta H_{vap}}+frac{1}{T_0}Bigg)^{-1}

where:
TB = the normal boiling point, K
R = the ideal gas constant, 8.314 J · K-1 · mol-1
P0 = is the vapor pressure at a given temperature, kPa
101.325 = atmospheric pressure, kPa
ΔHvap = the heat of vaporization of the liquid, J/mol
T0 = the given temperature, K
ln = the natural logarithm to the base e

SO WHAT???? SECTION:

Boiling point is very useful for cooking. Any time you make noodles you have to use boiling point.

Boiling point is also very important in storage. If you store a chemical with a low boiling point in direct sunlight it could cause an explotion.
