wiki Word: Black Dwarf |
Definition: A black dwarf is a star that is created when a white dwarf cannot give off heat or light. |
|
The white dwarf stars are formed from planertary nebulas. After those white dwarfs run out of fuel they no longer shine and become Black Dwarfs. The "lightless stars" are FILLED with degerate matter which is far more dense than regular matter. Black dwarfs take longer than the universe has lived to form from a white dwarf, so no black dwarfs are in view yet.

The black dwarf is very unique to our studies in class. The black dwarf is the last cycle of stars not ending in a supernova. Black dwarfs are also very useful to help us understand how old the universe is. Black Dwarfs take as long as the universe has been alive to be made, which means that the first black dwarf may appear soon. |
