Ares is the name of the Greek God of war. Because of its red surface, people named Mars after the Roman god of war. (Same thing with a Latin name) Ology means the study of. So areology means the study of Mars!!!!
This picture was taken from Mars. I chose it because Areology is the study of Mars and without Mars, there is nothing left for areologists to study. |
