Newton's 1st Law of Motion (The Law of Inertia). Isaac Newton is the founder of this law. To make it simpler, a car does not want to move unless something pushes or pulls it. If it is moving, it will stay in motion, at the same exact speed and direction, unless something causes it to change, like another car plowing into the side of it.
Newton also founded 2 other laws of motion.
The car below has inertia and does not want to be moved, therefore it takes some people to move it to the starting line.

Rolling the marbles down the ruler was a way to find inertia. The water bottle rockets and air rocket cars were parts of inertia.
