Giordano Bordoli i started that draft
Mrs. Flynt Use this space to talk to each other and post suggestion, comments, and get organized!
 Zz W.

Hi guys-I'm really excited about this project, and I've been reading tidbits from you guys' links,

but don't you think we should maybe add a little color to our page to jazz it up? Some other

group's pages have some color on them, and I think our's looks so uniform and blah and

plain. We could decide on a color scheme and then someone could edit it accordingly. What do you all think?

Jake H.  We need bigger and more pictures and facts!
Joe S.  I was just assigned to this group.!!!! We need to have the best one!!!  :)
Giordi b.   I like the idea zz and i agree joe.
 Zz W.

Mrs. Flynt informed us that color was for our final copies only... but we can still decide on whatwe want the colors for

the final copy to be! Sorry about that little slip-up!

Also-unless you guys think there are any more sources that we haven't got or tell us something new, I think we should begin our rough drafts soon. And Giordi, don't forget to sign in! ^_~

Lyndal C.  Hello, i have just been added to this  group. I am going o research about this mission, and help you decorate the page!
lyndal C.  tjis link is really great to tell you when the orbiter launched. its a great site to tell you info on wh yand how this mission was going to work, and laso shows a detailed timeline(heres the link)    www.google.com/ MRO mission to mars
 Zz W.

Hi Lyndal! Good to meet you. Since we have plenty of links now, I'm posting a few questions that we might maybe adress for our rough drafts. I'm sure you guys have some good questions/facts to contribute too, so when you post them, we can decide on what we think will be the best for our final copy and use them.

  • What is the purpose for the Mars Reconnaissance mission?
  • What does "Reconnaissance" mean?
  • What are some of the instruments aboard the Orbiter/what do they do?
  • How long did it take to build the Reconnaissance Orbiter?
  • Who were was needed to build the Reconnaissance (i.e. scientists, builders, engineers, ect.).
Joe S.

Ok guys we really need to work on our page cause it is not looking to great!!!         :(

Joe S. OK lyndal thi is what reconnaissance means:    An inspection or exploration of an area, especially one made to gather military information.
Kali P.

Lyndal was right, thats definition for Reconnaissance at Dictionary.com, and i added stuff in the draft...we need to pick certai colors we want to use, we use just any color we feel like.

Zz W.

I checked out the rough draft you guys started on and it looks so pretty! =) Question: On the rough draft, below  "facts", is this paragraph with lots of good facts. I wanted to know if it was there for a reason or if we can use that information for our facts table.

Somone also posted the definition of Reconnaissance, but another person did the same thing, so I'm wondering if I could delete the secod one.

I'm going to go see if I can find some pictures/facts/other to contribute to the rough draft.

Concerning colors: I think we should use colors that somehow relate or make us think of space Mars, Nasa, or orbiters in general. Any suggestions?

Joe.S Hey Zz Joe here, if there is more then one of anything just keep the better and delete the worse!
Kali P. Okay, i added a few more row for you guys! :D How about the colors from the Reconnaissance mission? if anyone can find them we can use those...Mrs. Flynt said there is always a patch for each mission, try to find it...i will look for it too. What about Pictures?
 Zz W.

Okey-dokey, Joe. Kali, great idea about the color from the patch. I looked on google and found it. I guess we'll be using colors like navy blue, black, red/orange, and yellow. I also found some photos of the MRO being built.

Giordi  ZZ i like those pictures but where did you put the source. and our draft is really blooming.

Get to Know MRO: Top 10 Facts About NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter

NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter is set to arrive at the red planet Friday after a seven-month trip from Earth.

The largest orbiter sent to Mars in 30 years by NASA, the MRO spacecraft launched on Aug. 12, 2005 with six primary instruments to study the Martian surface, atmosphere and potential underground water and ice deposits. Armed with what’s billed as the most powerful camera ever sent to another planet, MRO is expected pick out choice landing spots for future Mars-bound spacecraft and may even solve the mystery of a lost 1999 lander in the process.

Kali P.

Okay, so ZZ found our patch and colors...great job, i looked and i couldn't find it...so we have our colors, so we can edit and use the colors.

Our colors--

Navy Blue     red orange     Black   Gold &   White

Here are some facts I found

-- It can transmit about 10 times as much data per minute as any previous Mars spacecraft

--The maximum spacecraft mass is 2180 kg

--Over the last few days, engineers rebooted the spacecraft to clear a software error

--On March 14, the mars orbiter went into safe mode, the spacecraft switched, for the first time in the mission, to a backup ("B") duplicate flight computer on board. Diagnosis of the "A" computer has not yet revealed what caused the switch to the B side.

--Total cost of the mission is estimated at about $720 million

Make sure you remember to put your name and what you did on the thing at the top...

Zz W.   Whoopse, sorry about that guys. All the images can be found at this link. http://www.fourth-millennium.net/space-exploration/space-exploration-mro.html I think the draft is really coming along great~!
 Giordi b.

lyndal i really like that top ten thing and zz i like that website  that u posted i really like our draft

Joe.s  hey guys, what we could do is like put a link on our draft to a short video clip of the mro launching or something like that.  i think it would be pretty cool
Zz W.

Thats a great idea Joe! If we could find a video clip and would make our page even more awesome! We've done alot of stuff for our page and I think we're really close to being done!! :-)

kali p. I can try to get a video....if i can get that i will post it and then we only need to add finishing touches, wait until everyone else looks at it, then if you like it, just put something like "Finished" or "completed" or something like that..  :D
