wiki Word: Law of Cross-Cutting Relationships

Definition: features are younger than the units they cut across

FOR EXAMPLE: if a crater appears to be cutting through a lava flow the crater would have to be the youngest

The big reason behind why we need to understand this law is because so many formations are found that we cant find the age of however this law will help us to know the age ranking compared to what is around over or under it.
