Definition: The Greek word for Mars is Ares. Ares also is the Greek god of war. He also was the son of Zeus and Hera.

The red planet of our solar system and commonly refered to as
the Red Planet. Which is the fourth planet from the sun. The reason for the
name Mars is because of it's reddish color and there is blood in war. Blood
is red and the planet Mars is red and Mars is the roman god of war.

In class we are studying geology and areology and we are compareing Mars and Earth. So we can find out what is on the planet Ares also known as Mars.
