Libra is used in many words such as equalibrity which means the state or condition of being equally balanced; equilibrium. The origin of the word Libra derives from the Latin meaning "balances" or "scales." Libra is also a state of equilibrium or parity characterized by cancellation of all forces by equal opposing forces. A state of bodily equilibrium, an example would be thrown of balance by a gust of wind. It also means to act as an equalizing weight or force.

The term Libra applys to our class labs because when we are working on our labs we need to know the balance of things by equal forces. We need to know how things are equal and how they stay in balance. Also how forces cancel each other out by equal opposing forces.
